Thoughts on Islamic education have always been a hot topic of conversation from time to time. Mahbubi mahbubi@unuja.ac.id <p>This study aims to explore the understanding and practice of <em>wudhu</em> (ablution) and <em>shalat</em> (prayer) among 7th-grade students at MTs NU Kraksaan Probolinggo, as part of <em>fiqih</em> education, which plays a vital role in shaping students' religious character. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students and teachers, direct observation of worship activities, and documentation of <em>fiqih</em> learning materials used in class. The findings reveal that most students possess a basic understanding of the procedures for <em>wudhu</em> and <em>shalat</em>, but a significant gap remains in actual practice—particularly regarding the accuracy of implementation and the internalization of the spiritual meaning behind the rituals. Factors such as home prayer habits, time constraints, and limited opportunities for hands-on practice at school contribute to this gap. On the other hand, Islamic religious education teachers have delivered the material systematically, but challenges persist in ensuring students’ emotional engagement and consistent practice beyond the classroom. This study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of <em>fiqih</em> education at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level by emphasizing the importance of integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects in worship education. Practical recommendations include increasing hands-on practice during <em>fiqih</em> lessons, creating a school environment that supports regular prayer, and encouraging active parental involvement in guiding religious practice at home. Mathematics Education students have a challenge regarding the mindset that courses in the Mathematics Education study program are not easy so that they require critical logical mathematical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills were needed because they have an impact on learning outcomes. The lecture process that is centered on lecturers is one of the causes of passive classes and low critical thinking skills of students. A learning approach was needed that could foster critical thinking skills of students. This study was aims to improve the critical thinking skills students of Mathematics Education in the Integral Calculus course through the application of Student Center Learning. The method of qualitative research is the research of classroom action, the technique of data collect is non-test, namely through observation, data sources from observation sheets and students. The research results show that there is an increase in indicators of critical thinking skills before and after the action. Before the action, students can identify problems by 15% and after the action becomes 50%. Students can analyze problems, before the action by 20% and after the action 60%. Students can solve problems, before the action 15% and after the action 65%. Students can draw conclusions before the action 25%, after the action 70%. Traditional passive training methods are considered less relevant to produce graduates with 21st century skills. This research aims to identify and formulate an innovative training model that integrates the value of pesantren with modern pedagogy, overcoming competency gaps, and utilizing technology. Previous studies have been minimal in exploring innovations in pesantren-specific training methods, including the effectiveness of active learning and 21st century skill development. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Banyuwangi. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with leaders and students, and documentation. Thematic data analysis was carried out with the help of NVivo, and data validation using triangulation. The results show the transformation of the training method through the integration of classical book study with thematic discussions, problem-based learning, the use of digital media, and social projects. Practice-based methods are very effective in increasing student involvement. Efficiency is achieved through the use of technology and the integration of activities. However, in the era of globalization, the education gap between developed and developing countries remains a significant issue, widening disparities in access and quality. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods, analyzing various secondary sources such as academic journals, international policy reports, and educational statistics. The aim of this research is to examine the global education transformation from inequality towards equity between developed and developing countries, as well as to identify the obstacles and enablers of this transformation. The benefit of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview that can assist policymakers in designing more inclusive and equitable education strategies. The results indicate that developed countries have successfully established inclusive, digital, and 21st-century competency-oriented education systems, while developing countries continue to face significant challenges related to infrastructure, teacher quality, funding, and technological readiness. The purpose of this research is to analyze the definitions of education and culture, elaborate on the relationship between Islamic education and culture, identify factors influencing the development of Islamic education in the era of globalization, and present examples of Islamic education implementation within the Indonesian cultural environment. The research method used is a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, the main source is the Al-Qur`an Hadith textbook published by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with case studies in several schools in urban and rural areas. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, principals, students, and parents, and studies of curriculum documents and education policies. The analysis uses the interactive 3 models of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study indicate tension between the demands of curriculum uniformity to achieve national standards and the need for curriculum flexibility that is adjusted to the local context. Differences in school capacity, resource availability, and student characteristics in various regions are the main factors that trigger the controversy. In a dynamic global context, character education is key to preparing individuals with integrity, critical thinking, and responsibility. This study aims to compare the character education curriculum in Indonesia and Finland in order to identify effective practices that can be applied in Indonesia. The benefit of this study is to provide strategic recommendations for the development of more contextual, inclusive, and sustainable character education policies and practices. The method used is qualitative with a comparative study approach, involving the study of policy documentation, official curricula, and interviews with education practitioners from both countries. The results of the study show that although both countries prioritize character education, their approaches differ significantly. Indonesia tends to apply a normative and administrative top-down approach, while Finland integrates character education organically into school life, with an emphasis on student well-being, teacher autonomy, and community involvement.
