Abstract

The ability to recognize numbers in early childhood, especially at the age of 5-6 years, is an important foundation in the development of numeracy, which plays a significant role in the quality of education in the future. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using Wordwall AI-based learning media on the ability to recognize numbers in early childhood. Educators must develop innovative and more interesting learning media, one of which is by using game-based media, namely Wordwall learning media. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study consisted of 30 children at Adilika Kindergarten in Makassar. Data collection methods included observation, testing, and documentation activities. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics and parametric statistical analysis using the SPSS application. The results of the research through hypothesis testing of pre-test and post-test data on children's number recognition abilities showed a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results, thus indicating a significant effect of the use of digital technology-based Wordwall media on the number recognition abilities of early childhood. Thus, Wordwall media has been proven to increase children's attention, motivation, and involvement in learning, making it more effective than conventional learning media such as flashcards. Therefore, the implementation of digital technology-based Wordwall learning media can be an alternative interactive media for teaching number recognition to early childhood
